Favorite Face of January – I (Heart) Faces

This is the first time I’ve entered the weekly photography “contest” over at I Heart Faces, but since its a new year, I thought I’d jump in and participate for the fun of it. I photographed quite a few adorable faces during this first month of 2011, but my favorite face was one that belongs to me. Here’s my little guy in the chair getting a haircut.

Madison and Kennedy

I had such a blast with twins Madison and Kennedy this past week! It didn’t take long after introductions to figure out that these two are equally beautiful, but quite a bit different! Ms. Madison is a charming, precious little mama’s girl. Her sister Kennedy, well…lets just say she and I were fast friends! Precocious Kennedy warmed right up and often asked me to pick her up (lucky me!) and Madison hung with her mommy for the most part, which meant I was able to photograph their lovely mama, Sarah, quite a bit too.
I’ll be photographing these sweet girls a few times this year, and I’m so excited to capture how they grow and change. See you soon, Mady and Gabby!

Miss Avery — Take 2!

I had the pleasure of meeting up with Avery and her mom again, this time indoors.

This was my first time using any sort of indoor studio set-up and off-camera lighting. Shout out to my friend and photographer extrordinaire Timothy Horn for lending me some gear to make it happen!

Back to Avery…she has chub for miles, and it was not tough to talk her mom into letting me put her in a pink and black tutu. Isn’t she adorable?

Baby Avery — Portland

Finding a clear (non-rainy) day during January in Oregon can sometimes be challenging! Adorable baby Avery’s mom and I thought we’d found a winner on New Years Eve when the forcast called for clear skies. Unfortunately, it was also COLD! Very, very cold. Avery was tolerant of the cool temperatures for a few minutes, and then it was sad faces and tears. I can’t wait to see this baby again when we reschedule, she is just adorable, has the best 1 year old baby chub, and her blue eyes sparkle. I’ll see you soon, Avery! Looking forward to it!
