Landree turns One {Children’s Arboretum, Portland OR}

My littlest baby is turning one! A year ago, she completed our family. She is the most perfect punctuation at the end of a wonderful chapter.
Her curls are wild.  Her cheeks are delicious. She squeals and shrieks with such zeal and volume that heads turn everywhere we go.  Each day, we are finding out a bit more about her.
She loves books! She loves dogs! She can eat bowl after bowl of Pumpkin Soup!
She doesn’t say “Mama” or “Dada” yet, but she can say “Kitty” and “Dog”. She adores her older brother and sister, and other kids, in general, delight her.
Landree, your joy rubs off on me daily. I am grateful to be the recipient of your giggles, open-mouthed kisses, snuggles, and love. Your Daddy and I think its the most wonderful mystery unraveling before us, getting to discover who you are, as we help you learn and grow.

No matter what, we could not love you more.
Happy Birthday, Baby Girl!

Lily {Kelley Point Park, Portland OR}

My firstborn turned seven today. Seven! I can hardly believe it. She made me fall in love with motherhood. Capturing her beautiful face made me fall in love with photography. She’s still my favorite subject, but she’s so much MORE than what I can capture with my camera. Kind-hearted and loyal, creative and incredibly smart. Lily, I am lucky to be your mama, and can’t wait to see what the next seven years holds for you!

Lucky – Miles, Papa & Whelah

I have always felt that my children royally lucked out having not one, but two active, involved sets of grandparents. My kids love them each so much, and ask for them when we go too many weeks without getting to see them. Here’s Miles with his Papa, and then Papa and Whelah together. Aren’t they adorable?

Family Beach Trip – Rockaway Beach, OR

Only a portion of my family (two of my three brothers, future sis-in-law, my Dad, 2 nieces, and my daughter, to be precise) are represented here. I have only edited a few photos from our trip, but didn’t want time to get away from me without posting some.
The weather was perfect, the beach was mere feet from our condo, and for once, we weren’t staying in tents (YAY!). All in all, a fabulous weekend getaway!

I Heart Faces – A touch of Whimsy

This picture seemed right for the “Touch of Whimsy” photo challenge over at I heart Faces.

I have always wanted to photograph someone in front of the dilapidated brick facade located at NW 10th and Johnson. Out to dinner for my husband’s birthday, we wound up at Jamison Square for ice cream, very near the spot. We wandered over and I snapped a few pictures of my daughter sitting in the window of the old building, and the results were a little whimsical.
I will definitely be back for a shoot soon! I love the look of the brick and foliage.
