Gavin and Elsa {Dawson Creek Park, Hillsboro, OR}

Without question, Elsa, Gavin, Melissa and Paul were the zaniest, most irreverently fun family I’ve ever gotten to photograph.  They have such a playful, goofy chemistry!
Elsa is so strikingly lovely with her blond hair and green eyes, but then she throws a hand on her hip,  sticks her tongue out at her brother, and you know she’s more than a pretty face. This girl has SASS! She may run the world one day. Gavin is so handsome and photogenic, but got over having his photo taken quickly, and instead explored the park, and rolled his eyes at his mom and sister when made to pose. Kept me on my toes for sure. And,  Paul and Melissa are simply gorgeous together.
All in all, a thoroughly entertaining shoot! Thanks Guys!

Henry, Olive and Kate {Camas, WA}

I look forward to my session with this family every Autumn.
Their mama wanted fall color for their photos this year, and I think these photos deliver!
Thank you Henry, Olive and Kate for continuing to be sweet, charming, adorable, wacky, precocious, SweetTart loving children! Your joy continues to come through in photos, making my job easy.

Violet the Pilot {Alberta Park, Portland OR}

Meet Miss Violet, a round, rosy cheeked, hazel-eyed six month old beauty! Her Mama, Erin, in my humble opinion, is the best server in Portland. My family visits her for amazing food and service when I’m not in the mood to cook (read: often). Erin and I were pregnant with our daughters at the same time, and its so lovely to see her as a mama, confident and at ease in with her little. You can tell Violet is truly the center of her world. She and her husband David call Violet “Violet the Pilot” because she loves it when her Daddy flies her around. Her precious face lights up with smiles!
 I enjoyed getting to spend some time both at OMSI and Alberta park, watching her fly and interact with her parents. I’m predicting big things for this little lady!
Thanks Baby Violet, it was lovely hanging out not once but twice!

Abbie & Aidan {Cathedral Park, N. Portland, OR}

Another warm evening session with brother/sister duo Abbie and Aidan, and their fantastic parents. I always look forward to my sessions with this family, and they exceed my expectations each time, in their kindness, and in the photos I capture. Their mom Julie picked one of my favorite but least utilized spots for photos, Cathedral Park in the St. Johns area.
Abbie and Aidan have such a fun rapport with one another, it remained true that no pose I could come up with would beat how they naturally interacted. They are likely to shove each other and stick out their tongues, and then a moment later throw an arm around one another as they walked around the park. So adorable and true of the brother/sister relationship!
Aidan looks so much like his Mom, its uncanny, and Abbie has such a beautiful, soulful presence in photos, I could capture her all day and not get bored. Thanks kiddos!
 As usual, I loved getting to photograph you!

Everett & Elena {Sauvie Island, Portland, OR}

I have known Everett and Elena’s Dad for several years now, back before either of us had children (we have 5 between us these days! Crazy!). Spencer has been an important and intelligent member of our neighborhood, and we served together in our neighborhood association in past years. Now, we bump into each other on the playground, and talk child rearing. He’s a great guy, and I was thrilled to finally get to meet his gorgeous wife, Lisa, and hang out with his adorable littles.
Mr. Everett was serious-faced for most of our shoot, but his mom and dad knew how to coax his smile out when needed. He loved the tractor we discovered on the grounds, and enjoyed pretending to drive it. His little sister Elena was dainty in her blue and white dress, but precocious and tough too. She took some impressive tumbles during our evening in the orchard at Howell Territorial Park, mainly while following her brother around, but it didn’t dampen her spirits, or smiles. She also managed to sample a lot of the Orchard’s fare, as you’ll notice in photos!  She’s rarely without an apple.
Thank you Everett and Elena, for the pleasure of capturing your family photos, you two were terrific, and your parents were too!

The Evers Family {The Oak Grove, Linfield College, McMinnville, OR)

Twenty years or so ago, the Evers had their family portrait taken in the Oak Grove at Linfield College.  They returned to be photographed with spouses and children, and it turned out to be a really special shoot! Karen and David have much to be proud of. Thanks, Evers clan, for allowing me to take your family portrait!

Lily {Kelley Point Park, Portland OR}

My firstborn turned seven today. Seven! I can hardly believe it. She made me fall in love with motherhood. Capturing her beautiful face made me fall in love with photography. She’s still my favorite subject, but she’s so much MORE than what I can capture with my camera. Kind-hearted and loyal, creative and incredibly smart. Lily, I am lucky to be your mama, and can’t wait to see what the next seven years holds for you!

Mateo & Emilio {Peninsula Park, Portland, OR}

Ah, this family! These young men attend school with my children, and back before I knew them well, or had even chatted with their mama, I remember telling my daughter ( after noticing how handsome and polite Mateo was when I volunteered in class), “Be sure you are kind to Mateo, you are going to want to be on his good side in about 10 years!”  Now I count their mama, Jane, as a friend, and have enjoyed getting to know them during swim lessons, on the playground and at birthday parties. I feel so privileged to get to take their family portraits! Thanks you for the opportunity, David, Jane, Mateo and Emilio! Enjoy your photos!

Raylan – {SE Portland, OR}

Meet Raylan! This little cutie was a bit older than the typical newborn when I photographed him,  and therefore was more interactive and smiley than most! Raylan has the most gorgeous blue eyes and sweetest smile. Definitely a handsome little man.

Krisiey & Family {South Waterfront, Portland OR}

Krisiey is a fellow photographer (her business, Apple of My Eye Photography, is Here) and mama who contacted me to have some family photos taken. She explained that while she takes images of everyone else in her family on a regular basis,  she’s missing from the picture. I can so relate, and was thrilled to get to take photos that centered on the Mama for a change. This was supposed to be a mini session, but there were just too many gorgeous images of Krisiey and her family to narrow down. I loved that she chose a new location to me, the South Waterfront. It was a very grey morning, but I think we managed to get some beautiful images anyway.
It was a pleasure to photograph you, Krisiey, Albie and girls!
