Jesse and Abbie: Grand Teton Wedding

Its hard to think of a couple I’ve come across more in love than Jesse and Abbie. Abbie’s groom dotes on her, is unabashed in his declarations of love for her, may even shed a tear or two when talking about her. And Abbie, for her part, just glows when around him. I was so happy and honored to get to be the photographer who captured the story of their day, in the most beautiful of places. Abbie and Jesse, wishing you many years of love, health and togetherness!

I am excited to see what’s next for you two! xoxo

Katie & Chris {Columbia Gorge Discover Center Wedding}

There is just no way I can fully express how beautiful Chris and Katie’s day was. In fact, I don’t normally photograph weddings, but I felt a connection to Katie immediately,  and she described her special day in such a way that I just had to be a part of it. I have familiarity with the Dalles, Oregon, because my best friend is from there (and used to baby-sit the bride… Crazy coincidence!), so I knew the setting would be be breath taking.

Succulents. Dahlias. Rustic wood. Burlap.  The details were amazing. By far the loveliest aspect of the day, besides the bride herself, was the community around this couple. From the Bride’s hilariously irreverent bridesmaids, to the Groom’s band of brothers, to parents and step-parents, aunts and uncles, there is so much love surrounding these two.

Three of my most favorite moments:

As the couple shared their first kiss as husband and wife, a bird flew over their heads outside the window. What?!? It was so perfect!

During the Mother/Son dance, Chris’ mom called his step-mom out onto the floor to dance with them. It made me tear up so badly!

Right after the ceremony, the couple snuck away for a few minutes for some special photos in the beautiful scenery around the Museum. The light was perfect, and the joy was so palpable. It was the perfect time to photograph them.

I was really lucky to have Heidi from Heidi B. Photography shooting with me during key parts of the day. She captured so many beautiful details! Thank you Heidi, for working with me!

Chris and Katie, here’s to all the happiness ahead of you! Thank you for letting me document your special day. It was an honor and a pleasure.

Michael and Catheryn are Married! {The Nines Hotel, Portland, OR}

An elegant, stylish couple. A gorgeous hotel. A love story. How could this photographer say no?
Though I’m not often a wedding photographer, I had such a wonderful time capturing Catheryn and Michael’s intimate elopement at the Nines.
Dashing groom Michael met me in the lobby with the news that the couples’ gorgeously-lit, city view suite was not yet ready. No big deal. The laid back couple finished their wedding preparations in a more modest room. When Catheryn came out in her dress, I was totally wowed. She was so gorgeous!!!! The discovery that Catheryn had left her shoes at home? Well, it made for a bit of a hilarious scramble. Thankfully the officiant had arrived and was able to pick up a new pair.
Their non-traditional ceremony was simultaneously laid back and elegant, void of the usual fluff, but no less romantic or emotional than any other I’ve captured. Their bond and love for each other was obvious.
An intimate gathering of friends was held in the hotel restaurant, with drinks, appetizers and joy flowing. Such an honor to be there to capture it!
Congratulations Michael and Catheryn!
